Being Part of the St John Family Gives Dentists Unique Opportunity

St John Dental coming to Cannington and Midland

St John is expanding its dental services to the community with two new dental practices opening in Cannington and Midland as part of new St John Urgent Care clinics.

The new dental practices will primarily offer family-friendly dental services and general dental to the community, but also provide emergency dental services, same-day appointments, and a full suite of more involved services including wisdom teeth extractions, veneers, and implants.

The success of the St John model incorporating family dental in its urgent care centres has been demonstrated in its Armadale, Cockburn, and Joondalup centres, which all offer medical, dental, and urgent care on-site. The centres have delivered dental expertise and options to each community as an alternative to the hospital emergency department.

Dr Lawrence Chan, a Dentist with St John WA’s, says being part of the St John Urgent Care family gives dentists a unique opportunity.

“St John has an ever-growing, dynamic team, but maintains the culture of a big family which matches it’s brand and reputation,” he says. “We strive to foster a supportive environment for continued education, knowledge sharing, and mentoring for junior colleagues. This is largely enabled by St John’s Urgent Care Clinic model.

“Working within an urgent care medical centre means being able to associate with other medical disciplines daily – GPs and Urgent Care staff, as well as a group of dentists of differing experience and expertise. This provides a unique environment for ongoing learning and collaboration with peers.”

The new St John Clinics are state-of-the-art facilities, purpose-built to offer the best care in medical, dental and urgent care. They are also HBF member plus providers for dental. The centres offer extended hours to the community (Mon-Sat 8am-6pm), which provides an opportunity to staff for flexible working hours and a work-life-balance to suit their needs.

The St John WA model also ensures its dentists can focus on their clinical dentistry to deliver quality of care and treatment to patients, without the distraction of administration, marketing and patient recruitment, which is managed through a dedicated team. And with a schedule to grow to seven new dental practices within urgent care centres, there are career pathways and further opportunities within the company.

The St John Urgent Care clinics in Cannington and Midland are scheduled to open in March and April respectively, with opportunities currently available for interested dentists.
